Dobaebacsa is pleased to present Adaptations, an exhibition by Los Angeles artist Gala Porras-Kim
exploring how meanings can be altered as a method to make culture marketable, how an object may become
desirable for different reasons in another place as a result of the displaced desires of one culture
mapped onto another, and how new meanings are generated.

Gala Porras-Kim was born in Bogota, Colombia. She received her MFA in Art from the California Institute
of the Arts in 2009, and BA in Art from UCLA in 2007.
